Background

PingMD is a secure, HIPAA-compliant medical messaging app for intelligent doctor-patient and doctor-doctor communications. When I joined the project, the app needed a complete overhaul. Ping had previously worked with a IDEO to design version one of the app; since then, all changes to UX and UI were done by engineers without the aid of a designer.

UX Design

I started by evaluating the information hierarchy through wireframes. Features my team would implement were mapped out; additionally, I designed UX for features beyond the scope of the current project to ensure changes we made now would fit into overall system of the app.
